Helping Client's in Family Law Practice Find Hope Again
Melissa A. Grund represents people who are going through the worst time in lives.
Every day, Grund, 38, a partner at Grund & Leavitt, P.C., a preeminent family law firm in Chicago, helps these clients protect their children, their finances and other things that are important to them as they deal with divorce. She also helps them rebuild their self-confidence and get back on their feet.
“You’re really helping people find hope again,” Grund says. “Because when you go through a divorce, as you can imagine, it’s akin to experiencing a death in the family. You can easily feel that there is no light at the end of the tunnel. But I’m a naturally very positive and hopeful person, and I try to give that to my clients, in addition to great legal advice.”
Grund joined Grund & Leavitt in 2006. Since then, she has primarily represented clients in dissolution of marriage proceedings involving complex financial issues, corporate valuations, non-marital asset protection and child custody disputes.
In less than 10 years, Grund has become not only a leader in her firm but also a leader in the legal community. In 2014, she became a partner at Grund & Leavitt. In the same year, she was selected as one of the “40 Under 40 Attorneys to Watch,” by Law Bulletin Publishing Company.
